Your dog's chest measurement is the most important measurement for selecting the correct size of this coat; length is the second most important. 

Always measure your dog while standing (not sitting) as the dog's position can alter the measurements. 

  • Chest: Measure around the largest part of the chest
  • Neck: Measure around the neck where dog's collar sits

 

A NOTE ABOUT COLOR:

The raspberry and iridescent green waterproof fabrics are somewhat see-through. Because of this, the black elastic of the coat can be seen under those layers. Many of our customers have either not noticed or not been bothered by this, but we wanted to share photos of this since our online customers aren't able to see the coats in person before purchasing them. We hope this helps you choose the perfect color for your dog :)!

Why We Love It

The puffer version of this coat is one of our best selling items. The coat is beautiful and functional - we love that!

This coat is very easy to put on and take off. Our dog is a high energy dog and she needs her daily walks to use up that energy. Skipping a walk due to cold weather isn't an option! This coat is a good solution. It holds on to her body heat to keep her from shivering and the filling layer provides an extra layer of protection.

We've been on hikes in this coat and it has held up well; however, we have feedback from some customers that the outer material wasn't up to the task of roaming the trails. For that reason, we think this coat is best for neighborhood walks and urban trails that are clear and free from brush that would scrape against it. May also not be the best coat for dogs who like to drop and roll on their backs in the snow.

  • Will this coat fit a great dane?

    The 4X and 5X sizes should fit most Great Danes. Like people, all dogs are shaped a little different even if they're the same breed, so it's not ideal for us to recommend a coat based on breed.

    The best way to choose a size and coat is to measure your dog. Make sure the dog is standing up and use a tape measure to take the dog's neck (where the collar sits), chest (largest part of the chest), and back (from collar to base of tail) measurements.

    For this coat, we recommend fitting the chest first - meaning pick the size that is closest to their chest measurement. If they are between sizes, pick the largest size.
